When God Is Strong Enough to Carry Her
“…the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.” — Ephesians 1:19
When Chloe’s mom died, she felt empty and numb. But life did not stop. There were still bills to pay, work to do, a house and pets to take care of.
“I had to put myself together agad kasi I still had bills to pay, work to do, a house and pets to take care of.”
She realized she was already in survival mode.
For a couple of Sundays, being inside the tent where her mom’s funeral was held felt especially difficult.
“I felt like I was choking… Gusto kong umiyak, pero hindi ko alam kung paano. That place carried so many memories of her.”
She continued showing up, even while she was still trying to process her loss.
“Parang kailangan kong maging okay agad—not because I was okay, but because I still had to keep going.”
Eventually, Chloe stepped back from ministry.
But even in that season, she believes God was gently drawing her back to Him.
Through her mom’s influence, her ministry family, and the simple encouragement of people around her, Chloe was reminded of why she served in the first place.
“Kahit feeling ko empty and lost ako, God was patiently waiting for me to rely on Him more, trust Him more, and allow Him to heal me.”
God was teaching her that worship was not dependent on having everything together.
“He was teaching me that I can continue to worship, not because I have everything together, but because He is faithful even when I am not okay.”
The week before she returned to worship leading, Chloe still felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and numb.
“There were moments na parang gusto ko na lang mag-shut down or mag-back out because I was carrying so many emotions na I can’t & don’t know how to express.”
Yet in the middle of that exhaustion, she experienced something deeper: her need for God.
“I realized how much I needed God, not just for strength, but to teach me to fully rely on Him and trust Him more.”
God did not immediately remove the struggle.
Instead, He gave her what she needed to keep going.
“Hindi Niya agad inalis yung struggles, but He gave me enough strength to keep going.”
She experienced His peace while preparing for worship and His faithfulness throughout a difficult week.
“His faithfulness reminded me na He was there all along. Always present and constant.”
When Chloe finally led worship again, it was emotional and humbling.
Looking back, she could see that it was never her own strength that carried her through.
“I realized na hindi ako nagle-lead because I was strong, but because God was strong enough to carry me.”
And perhaps this is one of the ways we truly know God more.
Not only by learning about who He is, but by experiencing who He is when we need Him most.
For Chloe, knowing God more meant discovering that He is not only the God she serves, but the God who carries her when she has nothing left.
“Mas naintindihan ko na the more I know Him, the more I find and learn to trust Him so I can love Him more.”
This season taught her that knowing God goes beyond knowing His Word. It means personally experiencing His presence, faithfulness, and grace—even when we feel empty, lost, or broken.
And for anyone who may be in that kind of season, Chloe has this reminder:
“Hindi mo kailangang maging strong all the time or have everything figured out before you can come to Him.”
You don’t have to carry everything alone.
“Even soldiers need a quiet place to rest, and that place is in God’s hands. Let God carry you.”
Because when the time comes to stand and serve again, it won’t be because you were strong enough.
It will be because He was strong enough to carry you.
