BUILDING PROJECT
CAPITOL
CITY BAPTIST CHURCH
111 WEST AVE. QUEZON CITY
VISION
We are a church that glorifies God by making disciples
who make disciples through proclaiming Christ and loving our neighbors in the
heart of the nation with the nations at heart.
MISSION
Every CCBCer is a
disciplemaker. Every leader a shepherd.
Ministry happens wherever CCBCers
are.
WHAT IS CCBC?
Capitol City Baptist Church or CCBC, is a
church that gathers to worship at 111 West
Avenue, Quezon City.
From its pioneering stage in 1959 – when
Conservative Baptist missionaries Bruce Kerr, Orman Knight, and Jim Cook
initiated Bible studies and held the first worship service in Philam Homes in
Quezon City – CCBC grew into an established church in the 1960s and acquired a
property on West Ave. Its first Filipino pastor was Rev. Fred Magbanua Jr.
Under his leadership, CCBC expanded in the 1970s-80s,
hosting the
headquarters of the Conservative Baptist Association of the Philippines (CBAP) and the Conservative
Baptist Mission (CBM),
training pastors through
the Conservative Baptist Bible
(CBB), and helping
organize the Philippine
Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC).
In the 1980s-2000s, the church focused on
equipping members for ministry. CCBCers learned to share the gospel through
Evangelism Explosion training. They have also learned to see where God is
working and join Him there.
From 2000 to the present, CCBC has become
a thriving multi-generational
church under the leadership of dedicated pastors, innovating through small
group churches, engaging in cross-cultural missions, and forming strategic
partnerships to minister to children, youth,
the poor, OFWs,
drug addicts, Muslims,
and even convicted law offenders.
CHURCH PLANTING
Capitol City Baptist Church (CCBC) has been actively engaged in church planting as part of its
mission to fulfill the Great Commission and reach communities with the gospel
of Jesus Christ. Rooted in a vision to multiply disciples and establish vibrant
local congregations, CCBC has supported and sent out church
planters both locally and regionally. These efforts include launching daughter churches, partnering with leaders
in underserved areas, and equipping lay people for ministry through
training and discipleship. Each church plant is nurtured with pastoral support,
resources, and a commitment to spiritual and community development, ensuring
sustainable growth and a strong gospel witness.
Through prayer, collaboration, and a heart for the lost,
CCBC continues to expand its impact for God’s kingdom. Some of these daughter
churches have given birth to other churches as well.

OUTREACH MINISTRIES
Capitol City Baptist Church is committed to
reaching out and making a difference in the community through various outreach
ministries. These programs are designed to meet practical needs while sharing
God’s love and hope with children, students, families, and individuals seeking
a fresh start in life.
Awana is a Christian ministry
that uses a Bible-based
program to engage
children and youth,
ages 2 to 18, in evangelism and discipleship. We minister to about 80 children every month.
The Alternative Learning System (ALS) is a parallel, non- formal
education program in the Philippines designed to offer alternative pathways for basic education completion for out-of-school youth and adults.
113 out- of-school youth and
adult learners were enabled to receive an education and successfully graduate.
Kaagapay is Capitol City Baptist Church’s outreach ministry to
parolees and probationers, offering monthly therapeutic sessions in partnership
with QC-PPO2 that provide spiritual support, gospel-centered devotionals, and a
message of hope and transformation through Jesus Christ. We minister to about
500 people.
CCBC SENDS
CCBC is a sending church committed to
fulfilling the Great Commission as commanded in Matthew 28:18–20. Embracing
Jesus’ call to make disciples of all nations, CCBC actively sends and supports
missionaries across the globe. With a
heart for the nations and a passion for the gospel, the church partners with
mission workers through prayer, financial support, and ongoing care— empowering
them to proclaim Christ, disciple believers, and plant churches in diverse cultural
contexts.
As part of its global mission, CCBC has
adopted unreached people groups and works closely with trusted missions
agencies to help bring the gospel to those who have never heard. Through
strategic partnerships, the church is committed to seeing the least reached
nations discipled in Christ for the glory of God.
WHAT IS THE HAGGAI MANDATE BUILDING PROJECT?
For nearly 70 years,
Capitol City Baptist
Church (CCBC) has been a home, a fortress,
and a place of solace for
countless lives. Through decades of challenges and triumphs, CCBC has stood as
a testament to God’s faithfulness.
In the book of Haggai,
God calls His people to rebuild His house—not just as a physical
structure, but as a vibrant center of worship and community.
“Consider your ways…and build the house that I may take pleasure in it, that I
may be glorified, says the LORD.” Haggai 1:8.
The Haggai Mandate
Building Project (HMBP) is the facilities development program of Capitol City
Baptist Church. It is a campaign
to rebuild and improve facilities of the church on the West Avenue,
Quezon City property.
WHY ARE
WE RENOVATING
THE CHURCH?
We are renovating to preserve our sacred space,
improve functionality, ensure safety,
and create a more expansive space and environment for
worship, community gatherings and mission outreaches.
The new building design is a multi-purpose
public facility that provides a venue for CCBC activities and ministries. It
will be constructed on two adjacent lots on 111
West Ave. totaling 1,600 sq meters. The usable floor area of the
proposed building is 3,249 square meters. This will be three times the current
usable area of the current facility.
The designer employed the concept “genus
loci” or “spirit of the place” concept of
generating an architectural design.
It is the sensory influence that reflects the culture, character, traditions,
society and belief of the place. Since CCBC stands as a witness
for Christ in the heart
of the nation, then its architecture reflects that identity.
HOW LONG WILL THE RENOVATION TAKE?
The renovation will finish in 2027.
These are the different phases of construction.

HAGGAI MANDATE
BUILDING PROJECT 9
HOW WILL
THE SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES CONTINUE DURING THE RENOVATION?
We are committed to keeping our worship services and church ministry activities
ongoing throughout the renovation. Construction has been scheduled in
coordinated phases to allow CCBC to continue the services and scheduled
activities. At the onset of the CONSTRUCTION PHASE, a TENT will be constructed
to be the temporary worship space. Depending on the phase of the project,
services and big group activities will be held in THE TENT.
The church leadership has adjusted schedules and is doing virtual
services to ensure
continuity during the renovation.
Ministry leaders will provide regular updates,
and schedules will be posted on our bulletin board, website, and social media.
WHO IS OVERSEEING THE RENOVATION?
The renovation is being overseen by a
dedicated committee—the HAGGAI MANDATE BOARD—made up of church leaders, trusted
members of CCBC, and experienced professionals. This team is working closely
with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that every step of the
renovation reflects our values, stays on budget, and meets the needs of our
church community.
HOW IS THE HAGGAI PROJECT BEING FUNDED?
Funding may come from a
combination of donations,
fundraising efforts, grants, and church funds.
A monthly report will be available to all
members pertaining to funds raised and funds used.
The total estimated cost of the building
project is 100 million pesos.
Seasons change; and so, do needs. The Haggai Mandate Building Project is our
opportunity to reignite the passion and purpose of worship by creating a space
that reflects the glory of God.
This project is more than a renovation – it’s
an act of faith. It’s a chance to dream boldly, to believe that one day we’ll
gather in a renewed space, lifting our voices in worship.
And in that venue, we pray, by God’s faithfulness, each one
would be united with the same love for God, and the same drive to live a life
of true worship.
CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO THE HAGGAI PROJECT?
Absolutely! You can contribute through financial
donations, volunteering, or offering services and materials. Every contribution
helps.
HOW CAN I STAY UPDATED ON THE HAGGAI PROJECT?
You can stay informed through our weekly
church updates, official CCBC Facebook page, website updates, and announcements
during Sunday services.
We’ll also send email updates to those on our
mailing list. If you have any questions or would like to receive updates directly, feel
free to contact the church office.
WHO
DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE
QUESTIONS OR SUGGESTIONS?
If you have any questions or suggestions or
would like to get involved, please reach out to Pastor Jorge de Ramos at +639177194406 or email at pastorjorge@ccbc.ph. We welcome your input and appreciate your support!
Great things are rarely achieved overnight.
They require endurance, consistency, and obedience. The Haggai Project is a big vision, and it
will take all of us working together
to make it a reality.
This is about giving our hearts & our
money. Every gift, no matter the size, is an act of faith. It’s a declaration
that we believe in God’s promises and His plan for our church. It’s a continued
pursuit of the call to make disciples, proclaim
Christ, and love our neighbors. Together, we can build something that will impact lives for generations.
