Micah 6:8 Movements: Faith in Action Through Compassionate Outreach
The 40-day “In the Word” devotional journey has inspired church communities to embody the teachings of Micah 6:8—”To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” This transformative experience has led to the initiation of various outreach projects, demonstrating faith through tangible acts of kindness and justice.
Testimonies:
Dennis Escoto – Sharing Hope at Bahay Kalinga
During our 40-day study, Micah 6:8 reminded us that studying the Bible is good, but it is even more important to put God’s Word into action. This inspired us to set a goal: to share what we have and to share the free gift of God’s salvation.
We planned to give food and share the gospel, but at first, we didn’t know where to go or whom to help. Eventually, we were led to Bahay Kalinga in Valenzuela, where we ministered to 50 teenagers, aged 13 to 19.
During that outreach, we realized how truly blessed we are—our children have enough to eat, a family to belong to, and someone to listen to them. In contrast, these less fortunate children long for belonging and connection. Sharing the gospel gave them hope and encouraged them to put their faith in the Lord.
Beng Gavino – Bringing Joy to CRIBS Foundation
We were grateful for the opportunity to be a blessing to the Cribs children. It brought us joy to not only share stories with them but also to introduce them to Jesus and the profound impact He has on our lives. Through these moments, we witnessed the beauty of faith, kindness, and connection, leaving us inspired by their warmth and openness.
CRIBS Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization licensed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) providing a loving and safe environment for abandoned, neglected, surrendered babies and female minor survivors of sexual abuse.
Mary Ann Pineda – Reconnecting with Outreach at GRACES
Praising God that on May 17, I was able to join the Outreach Ministry at GRACES. This was part of our Micah 6:8 Project from the 40 Days in the Word campaign. Joining this outreach gave me great joy and reminded me of the outreach ministries we used to do in the previous church I attended when I was a teenager.
In the program we conducted at GRACES, I observed that the Senior Citizens who attended listened attentively to the Word of God that Brother Willie shared. Most of them accepted the Lord Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Even during the singing and dancing part of the program, I saw the smiles on their faces. They truly enjoyed the fellowship.
When we asked each Senior Citizen, “What is your happiest moment inside GRACES?”, a common answer arose — they are happiest when someone visits them, especially groups like ours.
Most of the Senior Citizens inside GRACES have no family, and some have been abandoned by their loved ones. Visiting them made me realize again that, as a CCBC’er, we are so blessed to be a blessing to others.
To God be all the glory. 🙏
These testimonies highlight the profound impact of living out Micah 6:8. By turning faith into action, these life groups have brought hope, joy, and a sense of belonging to those in need. Their stories serve as a testament to the transformative power of compassionate outreach, reminding us all of the importance of acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with our God.
